Bertram Dr Project
Project Objective
Reconnect our home and our pool so we can get back to enjoying our backyard.
Elevation Station
The original landscape in this backyard was deteriorating to the point of being unsafe, making the yard dysfunctional. Our clients were looking to be reconnected to their pool again with walkways, steps, and railings to provide safe access for their family and guests.
This backyard in Dundas posed extreme challenges in terms of accessibility. Certain elements like the pre-existing gabion baskets remained in place in order to keep this project on a reasonable timeline and budget.
Initially there were talks of building a deck over the existing landscape which would have avoided a lot of labour-intensive demolition, however, ultimately this precast retaining wall and raised patio area was the more cost-effective and durable solution.
Features
Over 90” of elevation from pool deck to backdoor
Tiered retaining walls and steps, Oaks Nueva precast wall stone with Banas natural stone steps
Raised patio and expanded pool deck with over 1400sf of added patio space
New fencing, garden plantings, and low-voltage lighting
Design: Adrian Hordyk, Keegan Lodder
“Working with OuterSpaces Landscapes was an absolute dream from start to finish. Keegan immediately understood our vision and brought it to life in a way that felt perfectly suited to our family and our home. The process was seamless, the team was a joy to have around, and the final result is more beautiful than we ever imagined.”
